Q: Can we get closer to whales in a zodiac?

A: No, the Saguenay Marine Park rules are very strict. All watercraft operating on the St. Lawrence River must respect
approach standards; from 0 to 100 meters if the boat is stationary or 200 meters from the whale if in motion.

Q: Will we see fewer whales on a 2-hour zodiac cruise?

A: No, the chance of seeing whales is the same on a 2- or 3-hour cruise. On a 2-hour cruise, we go directly
to the whale observation sites and if there isn’t enough time, we won’t enter the Saguenay Fjord at the end of the cruise.

Q: Do we need special clothing for a whale watching cruise?

A: Yes, wear closed shoes (not sandals), long pants, a long sleeved sweater, gloves and a hat. For zodiac cruises, Croisières AML provides a waterproof suit with an integrated life jacket.

Q: Is parking included when we book an AML cruise?

A: No, parking is not included. However, Croisières AML has a free shuttle service from most of our partner hotels in the regions we operate in.

Q: If I am unable to take my cruise, can I get a reimbursement? If not, can I reschedule for a later date?

A: Cruise tickets are non-refundable. However, the departure date may be changed to a later date (availability and capacity permitting), except for cruises aboard Zodiacs and for special cruises or events (ex: fireworks cruises).

Q: I would like to offer a cruise as a gift. Is this possible, and how?

A: Certainly! Simply contact one of our booking agents at 1-800-563-4643 (in season) or our receptionist (year-round) at 1-888-748-4857, ext. 221. You can buy a gift certificate for a specific product or in AML dollars (redeemable for all our products).

Q: What payment methods do you accept on your boats?

A: Cash, debit and credit cards. Personal checks are not accepted.

Q: Do you offer privileges to members of certain Québec associations or organizations?

A: Croisières AML, in collaboration with certain provincial associations or organizations, offers member discounts.
For example, CAA-AAA members get 20% off on regular cruises (excluding meals, zodiac cruises and special events).
Please contact our agents for details.

Q: Why are there reservation fees when we book a cruise by phone?

A: Due to administrative costs related to telephone reservation, reservation fees of $4 per paying person
(ex. adult, senior, children over 6) are added to the bill. However, when you book directly on our secure website web, reservation fees are only of 2$ per paying person.

Q: If I book a dinner cruise in advance, am I sure to have a window seat?

A: No, we cannot guarantee any particular place in the dining room. We advise all customers to arrive at the indicated
boarding time so that the maitre d’ can assign you a table.

Q: What is the best time of year or the best time of day to see whales?

A: Most of the species observed in the St. Lawrence estuary arrive gradually in the Tadoussac/Baie-Ste-Catherine region in April and May every year. As soon as the river is free of ice, excursions yield rich observations! There is no best time of day to see whales. Because the whales are in their natural environment, they can be observed at all times. You just have to be on the lookout!

Q: What is the dress code on board your boats for dinner cruises?

A: Although there is no specific dress code, we suggest semi-formal wear.

Q: Do you accommodate food allergies in your restaurants?

A: Yes, simply mention any food allergies to your agent when you book your dinner cruise in advance or to your
waiter (waitress) in the dining room. Our restaurant service will be advised and your meal will be prepared accordingly.

Q: Are your boats adapted for persons with restricted mobility in wheelchairs?

A: Most of our boats have gangways adapted for persons with restricted mobility in manual wheelchairs only.
