Montreal river shuttles routes and boarding

Find the boarding points of the river shuttles at the Old Port of Montreal, Île Sainte-Hélène (Parc Jean-Drapeau) and Longueuil. Parking, access and bike paths. Reservation required.

Leaving from the Old Port of Montreal

Boarding point: Jacques-Cartier Pier, across from Place Jacques-Cartier, in the Old Port of Montreal (155 quai d'accostage, Montréal).

From the Old Port, you can link up to three bike paths:

  • Route Verte #5 – crosses the Island of Montreal east to west along the St. Lawrence River.
  • Route Verte #1 – crosses the city from north to south.
  • Lachine Canal bike path – 11.5 km from the Old Port to Lake St. Louis. With about 1 million users yearly, it's Canada's most popular bike path.

Boarding point: Parc Jean-Drapeau landing stage, close to the Pavillon des Baigneurs (near La Ronde parking lot), Einstein Avenue.

Going to Parc Jean-Drapeau or Île Sainte-Hélène? Avoid traffic and take the river shuttle from the Old Port or Longueuil! Three trails totalling 15 km are yours to discover by bike, skates or on foot:

  • The Gilles-Villeneuve trail
  • The Olympic Basin trail
  • The Floralies Gardens trail

You also have access to the whole island and its attractions (Biosphère, La Ronde, Jean-Doré Beach, Aquatic Complex).

Leaving from Longueuil

Boarding point: Longueuil Marina (Marina Réal-Bouvier), near Parc Marie-Victorin (Longueuil, QC J4H 4C9).

Pedestrian and cyclist access: via the footbridges and Chemin de la Rive.
Automobile access: via the entrance to Parc Marie-Victorin. Parking available.

On the south shore, you can continue along Vélo Route #1 towards Greenfield Park, Saint-Hubert and beyond. La Riveraine, a bike path maintained by the city of Longueuil, takes you right along the St. Lawrence River.

Express Service

Express route Old Port – Île Sainte-Hélène

On weekends and holidays in high season, the Express route Old Port ↔ Île Sainte-Hélène (Line N5) offers departures every 30 minutes. Ideal for a quick round trip to the island for Jean-Doré Beach or a Parc Jean-Drapeau event.

Bike Paths and Route Verte

Quebec boasts a great network of bike paths: the Route Verte greenbelt runs more than 5,000 km across the province. Hop off the ferry right onto the bike path junction and continue your way along the St. Lawrence shores.

Bike, skate, pedestrian access

The river shuttles welcome pedestrians, cyclists and skaters. No motorized vehicles. Dogs are not allowed on board, except guide dogs.
